Inspire-along

Ok, so this is my idea, and I'm going to post it here and link from Craftster hoping people will hop on board.

This is an inspire-along. Since I was going round about inspiration I was thinking of a way that we could, as a community of sorts, inspire each other in ways that might be unconventional for any one of us individually. So I propose an inspire-along, wherein any given person can post something that inspires them, and why, and "pass it on" to a friend or put it up for grabs. Whoever grabs it uses it as THEIR inspiration, and then posts something to inspire the next person. I want this to be a challenge, which is why I include the passing it on option. (You know, you PICK someone to be inspired by your inspiration.) I want people to look for inspiration in places they wouldn't do so ordinarily, and to see what comes out of that inspiration so we can really look at how the same thing will make two people go completely different directions.

The logistics of this idea probably mostly include blogs, but maybe also a thread at Craftster for those who are blogless. In any event, someone posts and either calls someone via their post (and maybe informs them in a comment at their own blog or privately some how) or says it's an open idea. Whoever is called replies in comments that they have their mission and takes it to their own blog, where they will then post their own idea for someone else to grab. If the person makes it an open idea, then the first person to "grab" it in comments is the next link in the chain and so on. Of course, anyone who gets inspired by any of the items should feel free to play along, but I would love to keep a sort of clear chain of evolution so we can all follow how it's really going. Recip. links to the projects you've inspired and that inspired you are a good idea too.

So what do you think? Anyone in? Anyone want to start it, or have better ideas for organizing?

Great! Now we just have to find some more folks. Or, I could post something for you and you could pass it on. :D
